In the 21st Century, students must take ownership over their learning. I will introduce one avenue you can take to reach this destination. I will model not only my methods for student self-tracking and self-advocacy, but the ways that I build and maintain a collective growth mindset that fuels this process throughout the year. With remaining time, teachers can build their own templates for student use, discuss other ways to promote student ownership, and share resources. I will share my growth mindset lessons/ activities, progress sheet templates, supporting practices, culminating/ final reflection, tips, struggles and more. At the very least, I hope this session will get you geared up about increasing student ownership.
