Making Standards Based Grading and Learning Work in Any Classroom - Room: H201
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

“But that doesn’t work in math...” “That won’t work in my class...” Yes it will. Yes it can. Standards Based Learning can and does foster positive learning in both STEM and nonSTEM (Flower) classrooms. This presentation highlights comparisons & contrasts between both kinds of classrooms and shares specific ways to manifest the SBL principles in both content areas. A culture rich in the growth mindset, “failing forward,” and internalizing meaningful feedback permeates all SBL classrooms, while the “nuts and bolts” of how this culture manifests in each type of classroom varies. Collective philosophies, differentiated implementation, and authentic examples are interlaced throughout the presentation to make it clear to participants that SBL does, in fact, work in their classrooms.
